Computer Science and Engineering Department is the most versatile department of the college and caters to the needs of other departments as well. The department aims at developing the fundamental conceptual knowledge which helps computer engineers to face the challenges of a rapidly changing software industry. Technical skills, teamwork and specialized knowledge prepare these young engineers to adopt and continuously learn new technologies.
Online research papers , journals and other study material can be accessed by the students using DELNET facility.

Objectives:

  • Exposure to new soft wares so that students can adapt to the current needs of the industry.
  • Continued expansion and diversification of various laboratories.
  • Development of live projects by the students and improving the programming skills of students.
  • Strengthening of research and project development.
  • Faculty development and training.

A salient feature of the academic activities in the Department is that the students as well as the faculty members are provided with ample opportunities for their professional growth. Every year, numerous professional activities are held in the department. Industrial visits and lectures of experts from the industry form an integral part of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to become members of important professional bodies like CSI,IEEE,IETE. Thus, the department does not merely provide up-to-date knowledge, but also equips the students with the skills and aptitude for modern areas in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.

The faculty members and students are involved in the development of Campus Wide Networking of the institute, which would interconnect all students, labs, faculty members and administration through the INTRANET. A hands-on experience and training is being imparted to the students in the area of Networking.

Laboratories

Computer Science and Engineering Deptt. comprises of 8 state of the art labs :

  • Advance Software Lab
  • Project Lab
  • Programming lab
  • Software lab
  • Internet lab
  • Graphics Design lab.

Each lab is equipped with 30 IBM, Compaq P-IV machines of latest configuration. All the labs are internally networked and inter-connected to each other to form a LAN. The centre has twelve 6 KVA UPS (72 KVA) to provide reliability in case of power failure.

Department of Electronics and Communication has an excellent reputation for both its teaching and research. The department has well qualified staff members, with both academic and industrial experience, as well as a number of specialist visiting lecturers.
The department aims to impart quality technical education to the students aspiring for a career in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering. The department also caters to the needs of other Engineering disciplines where electronics is taught either as an essential or an elective subject.
The department has well equipped laboratories in related fields and students are exposed to various modern equipment in the area of electronics and communication.

Objectives:

  • Continued expansion and diversification of various laboratories.
  • Strengthening of research and project development.
  • Development of faculty which will draw the best graduate students, thus increasing our quality, visibility, and desirability as a place to study electronics and communication engineering.
  • An ability to apply design processes discipline which will allow students to provide resourceful and innovative engineering solutions.
